St. Brendan's GAA have been promoting Gaelic football in Manchester since 1959. The club has a proud history and tradition of producing teams that compete at the top level within the GAA in Britain. The club competes at senior, junior and underage levels and has players from each of the 4 Irish provinces as well as having many Manchester-born lads.
St Brendans are the most successful team in Lancashire GAA having won the Senior Football Championship a record 19 times.

The Senior team had a good win against rivals John Mitchels of Liverpool to annex the Pennine League Division 1 title for 2018. For a game played in blistering heat both teams showed a good level of conditioning, but it was the introduction of fresh legs at key times that helps the

St Brendan's have a fine underage tradition being the first Lancashire club to establish an underage setup by in the 1970s. We are extremely proud to be the home of the "Northern GAAmes" which was established in 2019 and hosted over 900 children from over 60 club and school teams.

St Brendan’s have 4 adult teams. Senior, Junior, Junior B and Homegrown. The Senior team is a mixture of players from across Ireland and Manchester born players who have come through the club underage.
Stephen Sands, Chris Mullen (both Down), Paddy Murphy (Armagh), Paddy Fox (Tyrone), Conrad Tierney (Mayo), Colm Conway, Michael Collins, Tom Grady and Conor Beard (all Manchester) were part of the Lancashire squad to play Kerry in the All-Ireland Junior semi-final in Manchester in 2016.
St Brendan's have helped many new players find employment in different sectors due to our contacts in construction, legal and IT.
